GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD
Trees and Hugs only uses cotton that is Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified and our sheets are made in GOTS certified factory. GOTS is an international leader in establishing textile processing standards for organic fibers. They inspect and assess standards throughout the entire supply chain of a product to ensure GOTS compliance. GOTS-certified products meet specific criteria to be deemed organic, ecologically and socially ethical, and environmentally friendly throughout all processing stages.
GOTS certified cotton is grown without the use of pesticides and is processed without the use of harsh chemicals. GOTS guidelines also establish fair trade practices, ensuring fair treatment of workers throughout the supply chain. These industry standards protect both farmers and the environment. Trees & Hugs is proud to work with GOTS certified producers.
CONSCIOUS CRAFTMANSHIP
Our manufacturing facility is Fairtrade International and Fairtrade USA certified. Fairtrade certification requires compliant companies to prove alignment with specific economic, social, and environmental standards. Additionally, Fair-trade certification requires facilities to maintain specific standards in the workplace like fair treatment of workers, competitive wages, and safe work environments.
Fair trade facilities cannot utilize child labor in any way throughout the production process. It has always been important to our founders to create a product that is environmentally friendly and ethically produced.
